It has been a pretty big week around here. The big big news is that my mother, after being divorced for 15 years is getting married tomorrow to a great guy. I'm so happy for her. I'm still wrapping my head around the idea of mom in a new house with a new name and adding to the family, but I am very happy for my mom and her soon to be husband. :)
The other not-so-big but exciting (for me) news...I finally got rid of the Money Pit and bought a new car. Brand spanking new Beetle Convertible...yes, another VW, but if anything goes wrong with this one, it is not my problem...it'll go right back to the dealer.
oh...what else...nothing. I think, despite my best mental efforts, I'm going to happy hour. I need to save $...am buying a few cases of champagne tomorrow (no, I'm not that much of a lush [stop it, I can hear you laughing in disagreement], it's for my mom's wedding).
Hope you are all doing well! Cheerio, fine folk!

So it's really rainy and gross out. I had to run to walgreens to buy some new tights seeing as mine somehow obtained a massive run down the front, argh, it was freeezing I always somehow seemed to be "against the wind....I'm still running against the wind...." oh, sorry, so anyway it was a damn good thing I bought some new tights, because mine were soaked when I got back to the office. But enough bitching about the weather.
This weekend was great. Thursday night in particular, yes, I know, I lumped Thursday in there too, but I haven't provided much of a real update since the kick ass event that was the Coal Men record release show. It was incredible. 12th and Porter was absolutely packed, the boys rocked, people cheered and stuck around till the end. CDs were flying off the table until we realized that, hey, they sold out! (not as fantastic as it sounds, there was only a box, doh!) But it was awesome at any rate. The guy that opened up, Mark Geary, is one of my new faves and aside from being an incredible musician is a hell of a cool guy, so that rocked. Adam did some awesome things with the lights, Stephen took tons of cool pictures and even sat on the couch behind Dave for a bit. Hoooooray!
Friday was a pretty good night too, did the usual 5pm at Tin Roof thing, but with one addition: my mom. Yep, ma decided to come to Nashville and hang out w/ me. It was actually a lot of fun. She's pretty hip, so it wasn't that big of a deal. Plus she looks 30, so more people thought we were just friends. In fact, we went to eat at Goten2 and I was helping her order. She looked at the waitress and said, "she knows what I'll eat." The waitress asked if we were best friends. I laughed and informed her that she was my mom and 23 years older. The waitress was shocked. It was funny, I laughed and my mom beamed. I'm glad she's feeling better. Oh, and then we went to the Wildhorse--yes, I'm serious, to see Blue County, who ended up being really good. I'm not much of a country fan, but they put on a hell of a show. The crowd ate it up.
Saturday I worked all day, which sucked, because not only was it 10 hours of cell phone bliss, but due to that stupid virus we couldn't use the net, and to top it off I left my phone at home, and just about everything is long distance from Lebanon. Bastards! But that night we went to Blue Bar, which was pretty lame, but it was great to see some friends and people watch.
Sunday, bloody Sunday...Sunday was good. We went to Church, which was great. Went to brunch and ended up laughing our asses off for the better part of the afternoon. Caught two really good Super Bowl parties, ate, drank, watched the Tivo replay of Ms. Jackson way more than I needed to see as well as that streaker, which was funny as hell.
So that's it, my weekend. Sigh. It's Monday. Monday can kiss my ass.
